The community of Wildomar was founded in 1969 and was the first Cafh community in the USA. A Cafh community for women, it is located in Southern California in the small city of Wildomar, halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. This Cafh community boasts a 30-acre property containing a community house, two retreat houses, and a preschool. Over the 43 years since its founding, community members have planted over 800 trees on the land.
The community of Wildomar operates a preschool and kindergarten , Anne Sullivan Nursery School and Kindergarten (annesullivanschool.com) as a means of earning a living and serving the surrounding community. At present, the Cafh community is expanding the school to serve 96 children daily. Community members permanently update their training and education in the field of early childhood education so as to serve the children and families better.
Besides our work of caring for the grounds and the school, we collaborate with the works of Cafh. This work includes guiding lay members of Cafh and holding monthly meditation and dialogue meetings to share the ideas of Cafh with others. We also hold Cafh workshops for children and adolescents and host spiritual retreats for members of Cafh.
By following the method of Cafh, which includes, meditation, prayer and study we bring together our unfolding love for the divine and love for people, which we express in our daily lives and relationships.
Our community members are from four different countries, so we strive to live a harmonious life by respecting and honoring differences and focusing on similarities. We are trying to forge a way in which human beings can live together. We are willing to go through trials, work with our mistakes and, at the same time, have the permanent conviction that no matter the circumstances or beliefs, human beings can live together in harmony. This is our fundamental spiritual work.
